Memory map route cards

This year, with the help of a qualified mountain guide, we have developed a recommended route for each of the corbett mountains rated "difficult" or "severe" - you can see details of the route for your mountain by following the link below (ordered alphabetically).

The recommended route will be the easiest and most straightforward route and is the one on which the difficulty level for the mountain has been assessed. If you plan to follow this route on the day, you just need to put "Recommended Route" on your rout e card - you do not need to provide detailed notes.

We strongly advise that you use the recommended route. However, it is your responsibility to ensure that you have checked the validity of the route

If you would prefer to use a different route up and/or down your mountain this is absolutely no problem, but you must give us enough detail of your planned route so that we can estimate where you are likely to be should we need to know on the day. You can provide this information in the text box on the route card form.

You should also remember that alternative routes may be more difficult than the recommended route and thus might for example make a "difficult" mountain into a "severe" one.

WaterAid's recommendation is that each team follows the easiest route up the mountain and where a team chooses not to, they do so at their own risk

The routes submitted on this page each come with a map of the route and distances and bearings for stages on the journey. This information cannot be relied on to follow a route with map and compass or GPS.

It is only an indication of where the most straightforward route might go and it is not accurate enough for the purposes of this challenge. Please be aware that full responsibility for plotting the exact route a team follows up a mountain lies with the Team Leader.
